History: The
Church was incorporated in 1975 by Dr. Arthur Ingalls
and a group who were meeting at his house on Park
Lane in Dallas, Texas as a study group. The Church
held services throughout North Dallas, utilizing
hotels and public facilities as meeting places.
Dr. Ingalls had been an Army Chaplain and a Christian
Science practitioner. The foundation of the Church
was based upon Dr. Ingalls' study of Joel Goldsmith
and his ordination as a Minister in the Today Church
founded by Rev. Bud and Carman Moshier.
In 1980, Jacqui Whitfield, a member of the church,
purchased property at the Rolling Hills development
in Van Alstyne, Texas. After investigating the
area at the invitation of Jacqui, Rev. Ingalls
and the Board purchased five acres for a church
in the Rolling Hills development. The property
was purchased with a $5,000 loan from Bementa
Ingalls, which was subsequently paid in full by
the Church. The property is registered in in the
name Flow of the
Spirit at the Grayson County
Court House.
Rev. Ingalls and a group of volunteers built
the 20X20 Pyramid Chapel building in 1984, and
began holding Sunday Services in the building.
The Church also held Easter Sunrise Services,
New Year's Eve Services and other events in this
new building.
In 1986 Rev. Ingalls and others poured the foundation
for what is now the "Ingalls' Spiritual Center." Over
the next six years, Rev. Ingalls continued working
on the center as donations came in from members
to purchase the materials. The building was completed
in the early 1980's.
In 1988 Rev. Robert Test was ordained as Minister
of Flow of the Spirit Church. Rev. Test moved
to Atlanta, Georgia and then Orlando, Florida
because of business commitments. At the request
of Dr. Ingalls in the Spring of 1999, Rev. Test
returned to the Church and became the full-time
Minister upon Dr. Ingalls' retirement.
In
2002, the Board of Directors voted to build a
32' diameter dome building, developed and constructed
by Monolithic Dome, Inc. of Italy, Texas. The
building was built for expansion of the facilities
at the Center. It was finished and occupied as
a new church facility in the Spring of 2003. It
is now our major church building.
